We have recently been adding some new course dates, including the Goldwork Weekend Workshop (with two dates to chose from) and the Tambour Beading Weekend Workshop in March.
During the 6 hour day goldwork workshop, you will be shown 4 goldwork techniques and two raising techniques, starting with the simplest to grasp and progressing onto the trickier ones as the day goes on.
The whole day will be enough to become familiar with the skills, however it requires practice to become proficient.
By the end of our tambour beading workshop which runs from 10am to 4:30pm, you will leave with enough assistance to continue your practice, and grow your skills to become confident with the technique.
Starting with the simple chain stitch will help you to become familiar with the initial technique before you can then move onto beads and sequins throughout the day.
With both workshops nearing closer, don’t forget to book your place before they sell out!
The Next Tambour Weekend Workshop which will take place on the 16th Jan is now sold out. But if you would like a place on our next workshop, we are now taking bookings which will be on the 12th March 2016 at our Soho Studio.
London Embroidery School is in the process of our annual price assessment so there may be some adjustments to certain items. However you will still receive generous discounts on our classes when bought as courses and we will continue to offer our 10% student discount!
Look out for our new specialist materials stock, with extra colours and thickness’s of bullion for ‘goldwork’, including metallic and brightly coloured finishes!
Also new to our shop are half fine gold spangles, (a beautiful, luxurious material to embellish with), and new weights of tambour hooks.

Learn from start to finish how to make a stunning star to top your tree this year, using an ancient embroidery technique that still looks beautiful today.
Whether you’re looking to learn a new skill, or put some old ones to good use, this is the workshop for you!
Taking you through some basic goldwork techniques, the workshop is suitable for both beginners and those who are familiar with the technique, as we work towards making your own top of the tree star that would make anyone proud to bring home.
You can even bring your own personality to your piece by creating your own combination of traditional goldwork techniques and sewing fills that will be demonstrated on the day.
After filling the star with sparkles, you will be shown how to close up and finish your handmade decoration, ready for it’s prime position on top of the tree!
