Relaunch of the Chiffon Roses Class

Thursday 13th April 2017 by claire

Since Spring has sprung we here at the London Embroidery School have decided to relaunch the Chiffon Roses Class. This class is perfect for learning how to create beautiful Chiffon Roses to jazz up any item of clothing.

Big, eye catching floral fabric manipulations have been seen all over fashion week over the previous years. References of this trend can be seen at Holly Fulton, Christopher Kane and Rodarte, but we think that Dolce & Gabbana took the crown with their oversized 3D roses in brilliant reds.

Dolce & Gabbana Ready to Wear Fall 2016

The roses you will be making are super soft to the touch and with the knowledge you will learn in the class you will be able to make these roses in absolutely any size, for any purpose. They could easily be applied to a dress or headband or even scaled up for a cushion cover. You can even make them in other colours!

Book here before spaces fill up!

Looking for Floral Inspiration?

Friday 10th April 2015 by Natasha Searls-Punter

Do you find yourself getting excited by the courses and classes on offer but then stuck for what to do with your new found skills. The London Embroidery School wants you to step out of the box and get experimental with the skills you have learnt. We would love to see what becomes of techniques we teach and how you have made them your own.

The Organdie Rose has been used to make a corsage, as seen in our previous post. Here is a little example of how Hawthorne & Heaney modified the structural flowers technique, in collaboration with Malone Souliers.

If you would like to get involved, the next Structural flowers class still has places on the 29th April.

New spring dates added for the Tambour with feathers class

Monday 23rd February 2015 by claire

Due to public demand, we have released new Spring dates for the Tambour with Feathers Course. This intermediate Tambour Class works on using the Tambour hook in conjunction with more challenging and delicate materials. The Feathers can prove quite a challenge and will push the skills which you will have learnt in the Couture Beading (Tambour) Course. Next Course Dates will be 4th March, 18th March and 1st April

Of course if only one of these techniques takes your fancy, you can buy just a single class from the course in the classes section.

If its been a little while since you have had a Tambour class and are not feeling too confident of your Tambour skills, there is the Tambour refresher class on the 25th February to jog your memory and make sure you get the most out of the Tambour with Feathers course. At only £20 its a steal!
