Chiffon Roses

March’s Student of the Month

Thursday 1st April 2021 by Natasha Searls-Punter Leave a Comment

Feels like Spring is here and with that a new student of the month. So for their lovely works during March the winner is…@rhea_krcmarova

It is so fascinating and inspiring to see what each of you like to do in your spare time and how you manage to work embroidery into your lives. Taking Rhea for example- describing herself as a writer and transmedial text artist, we were delighted to see how our chiffon rose class came out for her and how effective they are when built up in this way.

As a text artist, she also wrote this wonderful poem to go along with the piece which we think is just beautiful:

”my needle

floating

in a field of fingers

my pulse explodes

in silky-spoken strands

my blood is bound

my knots are softly breathing

my thread is rising

where my lashes bend”

Rhea Krcmarova 2021

Do have a look at her instagram page if you would enjoy seeing more of her works and seeing how her other artistic mediums all fit together.

If you would like to be the next #studentofthemonth,  use the hashtag #londonembroideryschool or tag us when sharing your photos from your London Embroidery School class or the things you have gone onto make following one of our classes.

Friday 3rd April 2020 by Natasha Searls-Punter Leave a Comment

chiffon Rose, rose, fabric rose, fabric manipulation, design outcome,

Following the success of the Valentino Roses Online Class (still available) , we have a new class to bring you today, Chiffon Roses Online Class!

These 3-D flowers are very soft and sit high from the base so they have real impact when applied. In this video we will talk you through manipulating the fabric, adapting the draft and stitching your rose in real time with us.

As you may not have the right bits at home already for this one, there are two kits available to go along side the class, the Deluxe kit (£20) for those who need all the equipment and materials, and the Mini kit (£5) if you just need the materials. Kits will be delivered by post both UK and worldwide.

New DIY Chiffon Rose Class Now Available!

Friday 1st April 2016 by claire

London Embroidery School were so impressed by all of the bold, statement flowers that were seen at the last Fashion Week, we couldn’t help but try our hand at some for a DIY Chiffon Rose Class!

Dolce & Gabbana Bright Red Florals

We were especially inspired by the luscious red roses at Dolce & Gabbana that were oversized, 3D and beautiful!

Initial Design Stages

Inspired by this we have made our own version with a bit of a vintage touch, applying these show stoppers to a t-shirt or top of your own. These hand made roses are soft to the touch, and once the technique has been learnt they can be made in any size and use them to instantly embellish things such as tops, dresses, hair accessories and cushions.

Flower Design

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to learn how to make these fabulous couture roses, and breath new life into an unloved piece of your wardrobe.

We’re looking forward to teaching you all this wonderful new technique and seeing what you create!
