Get booked into The Lace Series Course starting 15th March!

Thursday 9th March 2017 by claire

Class 1

We still have a few more places on the Lace Series course starting next week on Wednesday 15th March 2017, 6:30- 8:30 pm.

The following 2 classes are on 29th March and 12th April 2017; 6:30-8:30pm located at:

The London Embroidery School, Hawthorne & Heaney Studio, 14 Rathbone Place, W1T 1HT

If you want to learn embroidered lace based techniques then this course is for you! Book now.

Here is a break down on what the course entails:

Class 1:  Lace Applique (see above). Starting with the original class we will be teaching the application of lace onto delicate fabrics, perfect for use on lingerie and evening wear.  Dealing mainly with tension and placement this class will show you a very clever way of covering a lot of ground with pattern very quickly once in your stride.

Class 2: Broiderie Anglaise. This tradition white-work lace technique creates an opaque cut work effect and will teach from applying your desired design onto cotton right through to creating the lace effect and stitches.

Class 3: Limerick Lace. Incredibly delicate needlework lace created by stitching directly into the tulle and embracing the textures and patterns within the tulle itself.

The course is available with and without equipment so please choose your booking accordingly. A stiletto is required for the Broiderie Anglaise Class so if you have one please bring it along, if not they will be available for use during the class and for purchase afterwards or from the website. We will be working on a clamp frame to hold the fabric and leave both hands free to embroider. All other materials and equipment is included in the price of the course for use during the class.

This course is also available to book separately as classes so if your interested in learning just one technique you can!
